- Thomas Kwok is the second-oldest son of Kwok Tak-seng, cofounder of Sun Hung Kai Properties, one of the largest developers in Hong Kong.
- He was cochairman from 2011 until 2014, when he was sentenced to five years in prison for bribery. He was released in 2019.
- In Thomas's absence his son Adam has served as an executive director for the company.
- Kwok and his two brothers, Raymond and Walter (d. 2018) inherited the publicly traded company after the death of their father in 1990.
- He was appointed senior director of Sun Hung Kai Real Estate Agency, a subsidiary of Sun Hung Kai Properties, in 2020.
