- Susan Carol Holland is the chair of the board of Milan-based Amplifon, the world's largest retailer of hearing aids.
- Amplifon was founded in 1950 by her father, British-born Algernon Charles Holland, to provide hearing care for people injured in World War II.
- Her father served in the British Special Operations Executive during the war, receiving the honor of Member of the Order of the British Empire.
- Amplifon developed digital hearing aids in the 1990s and entered the North American market with the acquisition of Miracle-Ear in 1999.
- Algernon died in 2001, the same year Amplifon went public on the Italian Stock Exchange; Susan took over as chair in 2011.
