- Soegiarto Adikoesoemo founded AKR Corporindo as a chemicals trader in 1960 and listed it on the Indonesian Stock Exchange in 1994.
- AKR Corporindo is now engaged in petroleum trading and distribution, logistics services, chemical manufacturing and industrial estate.
- AKR Corporindo and British oil and gas firm BP's joint venture distributes aviation fuel and operates jointly branded service stations in Indonesia.
- Soegiarto is AKR's president commissioner. His son Haryanto is president director.
