- Remo Ruffini turned around a nearly bankrupt luxury sportswear firm Moncler, taking the company public in 2013 in one of Italy's largest IPOs in years
- Ruffini started out as the company's creative director in 1999 and a few years later bought the brand. Now chairman and CEO, he owns a 15% stake.
- Ruffini introduced new colors and designs at Moncler, and partnered with the Carlyle Group to expand internationally.
- He got his start in the U.S. working for his father's clothing company, Gianfranco Ruffini.
- In 1984 he returned to Italy and founded his own brand, New England Company, which was sold in 2000.
- In December 2021, in Ruffini's first acquisition since taking over, Moncler bought sportswear brand Stone Island in a $1.4 billion cash-and-stock deal.
- He owns a 180-foot superyacht, Atlante, as well as a restored chalet in St. Moritz, Switzerland.
