- Matthew Pritzker and his sister Liesel Pritzker Simmons sued their family for a chunk of its Hyatt Hotels fortune and received around $500 million apiece in 2005.
- Their uncle Jay Pritzker (d. 1999) founded the hotel chain and their uncle Donald Pritzker (d. 1972) managed and developed it.
