- Liesel Pritzker Simmons and her brother Matthew Pritzker sued their family for a chunk of its Hyatt Hotels fortune and received around $500 million apiece in 2005.
- Their uncle Jay Pritzker (d. 1999) founded the hotel chain and their uncle Donald Pritzker (d. 1972) managed and developed it.
- Their father Robert Pritzker (d. 2011) ran the family's industrial conglomerate Marmon Group, which was acquired by Berkshire Hathaway in a series of transactions beginning in 2008.
