- Georg Nemetschek is the founder and deputy chairman of publicly traded German software company Nemetschek Group.
- He started using design software in his own engineering office in the late 1960s, long before computers became available for personal use.
- The company, which serves the architecture, engineering and construction industries, went public in 1999 and has annual revenue of about 1 billion euros.
- Nemetschek Group expanded into 3D animation and motion design, securing access to the media industry. Its software has around six million users.
- In 2020, Georg launched the Nemetschek Innovation Foundation to support scientific research and artificial intelligence in the construction industry.
- In 1971, he was appointed as a professor at the Munich University of Applied Sciences. He served as dean of the Civil Engineering department from 1977 to 1996.
